IR 831 Coimbra B to Valença, here as the official Inaugural train for the electrification of the Minho line. This train was attended by Prime Minister António Costa and Minister of Infrastructure and Housing Pedro Nuno Santos and a government delegation, both Ministers can be seen talking to each other in the 2nd and 3rd window from the right, on the first coach.
Since April 25th, all Porto-Valença and Coimbra-Valença InterRegional (IR) trains are hauled with class 2600 locomotives and intercity Corail coaches. The typical consist is 3 Corail 2nd class coaches, but on this special occasion, a 1st class and 1st class bar coach have been added to transport the inaugural entourage.
