UEF 25.9.1976 01 1066 (UEF 25.9.1976 01.10)

The legendary last tour for 01 1066, then already owned by Ulmer Eisenbahnfreunde UEF, brought the mighty engine with a 15 car-train from Stuttgart via Nuremberg to the Schiefe Ebene at Neuenmarkt-Wirsberg and back on sunday, Sept 25th, 1976.
Here she comes storming out of one of the short tunnels on her way through the scenic jura-mountains of "Fraenkische Schweiz" east of Nürnberg.

After the event, steam on DB tracks was strictly forbidden until 1985, when the 150-year jubilee took place in Nürnberg.
01 1066 survived this and luckily is still active, though under heavy repairs these days and hopefully will return fully restored next year for more years of impressive service for the fans of the 3 cylinders!

The EXIF-data are for photographing the slide... but the slide itself was taken with an Olympus OM2, now 42 years back...
