LaTraction 206 (LaTraction E206)

Sometimes postcard wheater isn't as suitable as a cloudy sky. Here we see E 206 fo La Traction - a former portugese state railway steam engine built for the Minho e Douro - as special charter on the Yverdon - Ste Croix railway. The railway celebrates it's 125th birthday this year. The steam train was brought here for the celebrating weekend. Since 1945 the railway is electrified and the last steam train before last weekend run 25 yeras ago. Definitely worth to go outside at this rainy weather, esepecially on a location like this when the shot is taken completely against the direct sunlight...

Nice to see one of "our" narrow gauge locomotives working at full steam. Sad that it's only possible to see it in another country, but this is the reflection of the current state of the portuguese railways. Nice one Peter! Thanks for sharing!

Mal wieder? Die E206 war das erste mal auf der YSteC. die letzten Dampffahrten vor 25 Jahren fanden mit einer Mallet der BC statt. Die E206 ist ja normalerweise im Jura auf dem Netz der CJ im Einsatz.
