SNCF BB26088 (SNCF BB26000)

Because the new rames are built in La Rochelle in the West of France, and the engines built in Belfort East of France, a transport from one site to another is necessary for Alstom. One of this transports is viewed in Mommenheim. It is composed of a very new rame of TGV duplex without its engines, and which is pulled by the BB26088.
It's interesting to note that even if 26088 has only reach half of its "life", the loco has already been retired of service. This is probably due to the necessity for french national railways to use the more recent "prima" loco insteand of these older 26000. Add this the collapse of french freight transport, since our government prefer using trucks instead of trains, and the decision of SNCF to save money in avoinding maintenance on these locos ( as the compagny as approximately 40 billions euros of dept...) in a very difficult social context.
